Zao's modified Jaguar XKR is equipped with an arsenal of weaponry. Jonnie Comet ◊ 2011-10-09 09:49	What's strange is that Bond has NEVER driven a Jaguar XK-series. And the first appearance of one is this one, by the bad guy (and it's my least-favourite open Jag). I made a comment on Top Gear's page recently, saying that of the DB4/5 and the XKE, the Aston was the cultured man's car and the XKE was the one a guy left his girlfriend/wife/mistress for. That was widely carried as an 'image' in those days and I think Broccoli and Fleming were going for the former with Bond's character. The XKE would have made him look TOO much like a playboy. They wanted him to be more of a Tory.
