This model of Granada would have been too new to be on a "V" plate |

The Mk.2 Grannie was introduced in 1977 ('78 my). |

Yes, but this is the 1981 facelift model. Earliest reg on this would be an "X" reg. |

It's a limited edition (relatively) 2.8 Injection introduced in 1981 ("W" - reg in UK)to replace the previous iS models. The model formed part of the facelifted MkII Granada range made from '81-'85. The 2.8 Injection was a model in it's own right with a trim level lower than Ghia injections. The actual trim was the same as a GL ("Chelsea" cloth and no wood trim on doors or rear headrests). The model did have genuine Recaro front seats and special pearlescent white TRX alloys. I owned a red 2.8 Injection auto in 1987... |

Just to elaborate on Alex's point (which is absolutely correct), this is NOT a 2.8i 'S'. The series 2 MK2 dropped the 'S' designation, and this car is known as the '2.8 Injection'. And as has been pointed out, too new a model for a 'V' registration. |

Agree 2.8 Injection as official title. According to Glass's it replaced the 2.8i GLS in Oct 81 as a normal production variant (ie not a limited edition, although seems a rare version) with added front and rear spoilers, front spots, Recaros, matt black instead of chrome, and those unique cream finish TRX alloys. I don't know if plob's comment is a coincidence, but Corgi Vanguards have just last week released a 1-43 diecast 2.8 Injection (VA12409) in Graphite grey which is exact visual match and has A675 XRD plate - the model does have cream finish alloys, not silver as illustrated. |

The car was A675XRD and we were asked to supply a replacement car which was bought for the show A61 NFX which was black not graphite grey ,but production decided to use a £500 Cortina they sourced instead as it was going to be written off in a scene. Apparently the owner of XRD wasn't happy with the way it was looked after and pulled it from show once the season was finished |
