If indeed it is a Jensen Jen-Tug, and it looks too big to me, can we get the correct spelling of Jensen? Nothing to do with buttons, more the brothers Alan and Dick Jensen who founded the company. -- Last edit: 2009-06-01 10:34:20 |

Jensen Jen-Tug (1946-1959) Cab and wheel sizes look right to me, plus the roof and side-light position match the Jen-Tug. A pity there is no front view. |

I cannot argue with Sunbar, as he says, pity there is no front view. That's quite a lot of vehicle for a 1500cc engine to lug about, but I suppose it didn't go much above 20 mph. -- Last edit: 2009-06-01 16:54:30 |

The detail I believe I remember from the past is the very narrow rear track on the Jen-Tug compared with the front. Pictures are difficult to find but here are the best I located. Again I am not 100% convinced but everything points to it being one. IIRC the reason for this was that the landing gear on the small BR semitrailers could not be swung up, so the rear wheels of the Jen-Tug had to fit between the legs. The Scammell 'mechanical horses' were similar. |

The Jen Tug had a very narrow rear wheel track and the trailer jockey wheels hung either side. The Pocket Bond Classix 1.76 model shows this well and along with the Dinky model of the electric version gives this model much greater exposure than it had in real life ! -- Last edit: 2009-06-03 12:45:27 |
