With those rearlights it's a 1200 [Typ 1]. Also notice the export style bumpers. |

Big side window, old "nose" for the plate-illumination, new back lamps, old front indicators - I would say, it's a 1964-version. @Lateef: the back lamps doesn't say anything about the engine of a pre-1968 Typ 1, only about the model-year. After 1968 -new front lamps, new "railroad-track"-bumpers- only the 1200 had them indeed, and the 1300, 1500 and 1302 the bigger ones. After 1973 the 1303 got the bigger "elephant-foot"-lamps, which shortly later were mounted at all European Typ 1 (o.k., after 1974 only the 1200 was left over anyways). -- Last edit: 2009-06-02 22:01:20 |

I didn't know that... But what I do know is how to spot the difference between a 1949, a 1964 and a 1968 model lol. I was so sure this was a 1200 and I had to make up a reason why ![]() |

Is that Italian version due to white indicator? |

It´s two cars, main picture + first and third thumb show a 1963 model with smaller side windows and no wolfsburg crest on the hood. White indicators for italy. Second thumb is a 1964/65 model, other wipers and larger side window and also the old type of hubcaps. |

Tail lights make it 1962+ but car was made before 1963. The Wolfsburg crest is lost. Note the empty place for crest under (shorter) slat on bootlid. |
