Bristol KSW with Eastern Coachworks lowbridge body, new in 1954. JBD965 was new to United Counties fleet number 928 (and therefore green when new!), but seen here in 1977 in Hants and Dorset National Bus Company-era colours. Route 47 to Southampton is genuine, but I don't believe the bus ever ran for Hants and Dorset, and certainly not in 1977 in this livery. See http://sct61.org.uk/uc928.htm for a 2004 photograph, by which time the bus had been exported to the US

Equus was filmed in Toronto for tax reasons, so the bus was either shipped there for the film or already in Canada.

...found a reference to it - JBD965, 967 and 982 were used for sightseeing tours by Toronto Transit Commission between 1974 and 1977. A 2001 note by Roger Hardy on the British Buses Abroad in North America Yahoo group notes all three were sold to a dealer in Chattanooga, Tennessee after the 1977 season. So this bus was already in Toronto when 'Equus' was filmed.
