Must be classified as R 4 Furgoneta or Renault 4 F4? |

Furgoneta, because F4 came as name much later with 3rd facelift grill, in 1978.. This model seems specific FASA production, with 1964 type of bumpers used on the normal sedan/hatchback R4, and 1st type of grill. |

This is a Furgoneta built by by FASA in Valladolid. In Spain, the Fourgonnette was always referred to as 'Furgoneta', also after, in France, the Fourgonnette was named F4 (thanks to the introduction of the Fourgonnette Longue, later F6). The bumpers on the model shown here were used between 1967 and 1977 on both the furgoneta and berlina models. In France, the 3rd grille, in black plastic, was already introduced in 1975 on all models. FASA continued to use the 1st grille on the basic berlina and furgoneta until 1978. The black plastic grille was introduced in 1975 for the luxury berlina model only. This model is the one with the elevated roof: 'sobre-elevada' or 'sûrélevée' (1969-1980). It was also sold in France, with the same bumpers, as Fourgonnette Sûrélevée. -- Last edit: 2013-01-03 15:51:22 |
