![]() ![]() ![]() It has a Mercedes-Benz star but looks to me like 'made for movie' and the spare wheel changes between shots I think? Could be they used two cars? |

It appears intended to be Mercedes-Benz 260 10/50ps 4-sitz Stuttgart Spezial-Cabriolet 'D'? However I leave it to someone more expert to comment on the differences seen. Could it be modified or altered to keep running after the war with whatever was available? ![]() -- Last edit: 2009-07-26 16:58:16 |

"made for movie" is not correct at all. It's rather a car, which has more or less survived the war and was hold at live with a plenty of provisional work and parts of different vehicles. This was usual in the Germany of the late 40ies, because new cars weren't available for private persons. And noone -except the black-market-crooks and -smugglers had money (resp. values, because until 1948 money, except the US-$, was worthless in Germany) for a car. And fuel and tires weren't available either. |
