The first 20 seconds or so of the season finale of In Plain Sight,
Season 2, Episode 15, featured a yellow Toyota station wagon, in use
as a taxi cab. The episode implies this is in a South American
country, perhaps Argentina.

The vehicle in question, is not a Corolla, is not a Corona. The nose
of the vehicle is the same as the 1975-1980 Toyota Hilux pickup truck.
The doors of the car appear to be mass production items, but the rear
of the car and the hatch area seem custom, perhaps in fiberglass.

I didn't have any luck hunting for this car online. Searching "hilux
wagon" returns thousands of pictures of Toyota 4Runner SUVs.

I wrote "perhaps Argentina". In Plain Sight never specified what country it was.

I'll have to look up the movie Vibes, and see if the wagon is in there again.

 To continue the thread after a year...

I just watched the movie "The Losers". Near the beginning of the film, our heroes are living in an unspecified South American country. To illustrate this, they show the same clip as above, enough to see the front and hatch of the Toyota in question.
