Not unusual for a 1960s vehicle. The pivots were positioned symmetrically on many cars so both the upper corners of the windscreen were left un-wiped. Its only with the safety regulations from the 1970s that the offset arms had to be used to ensure the drivers side was cleared completely, up to the A pillar. Compare the 1970s Cavalier design with the earlier MGB. The reduced wiped area is visible on the MGB and being a 1960s design they were not required to meet the new regulations despite the fact the cars were sold well into the 1970s. ![]() -- Last edit: 2009-12-02 13:59:31 |
