Side view of the vehicle...![]() Seen from the rear it has an 'N' 1974-1975 registration, possibly from Essex CC (possibly UOO905N). It would appear to pre-date the Carmichael Jetranger 1000 and 2000 4x4 airport rapid response crash tenders introduced in the late 1970s. Chassis used by Carmichael could be Shelvoke & Drewry (WX?) or Scammell Nubian 4x4, its only a guess but I would say Shelvoke & Drewry. |

It's JOD905N as seen here: ![]() Helpful plate check: Vehicle details found: JOD905N YELLOW AND WHITE, 1975 OTHER OTHER FIRE ENGINE Googling the registration we get Unipower R4E/Chubb CrT. And also: http://www.fire-engine-photos.com/picture/number37422.asp which calls it a Chubb Fire C44 Protector: We've had some discussion of Unipower before: /vehicle.php?id=45055 and this lonely example: /vehicle_448974-Unipower-RE6P-1991.html and we also have a couple of 'Chubb Fire' vehicles: /vehicles.php?make=Chubb+Fire&model=Pathfinder&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on I'm presuming it's a Unipower chassis with some Carmichael equipment and the vehicle put together by Chubb Fire? Couple of extra screenshots: ![]() ![]() ![]() Which shows similarity with this Chubb Fire Protector: http://www.offroadvehicle.ru/AZBUCAR/Chabb/Chubb%204x4.jpg So Chubb Protector or Unipower R4E as a name? |
