Is it green? No, it's red. -- Last edit: 2012-11-09 03:42:57 (G-MANN) |

I could have understood the joke if it was a Clio (fish), but a Twingo? That's just lame. |

There was no real reason for it, it was just a comedic stunt. |

He went a BIT too far by killing Ross Kemp I think. |

I think this a reference to that famous Eastenders episode where Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) was written out of the program. /vehicle_28534-Vauxhall-Astra-Estate-1992.html Renault would have been OK with this anyway. -- Last edit: 2009-12-07 20:23:04 |

I would liked to get that Twingo RS instead of my 206 1.4 |

You went a bit too far perhaps. This Twingos are made in Slovenia not Slovakia - former IMV plant. |

It was a very favorable review of the Twingo actually. He just tried to make the ferry and missed... |

That should be done for all the Mk 3 Vauxhall Astras and Opel Astra F:s. |

I jsaw last evening a Fifth Gear Europe episode, where Tom Ford was testing one of these, he was not very pleased of the interior quality, being ugly, cheap plastic and falling apart. |

This same car was also used by Fifth Gear, in their four car test with the Fiat 500 Abarth, Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart and the Suzuki Swift Sport. |

HY58VAJ was also bashed up and used for the filming of this bit. |

Top Gear trickery again: The vehicle details for HY58UWS are: Date of Liability 01 11 2011 Date of First Registration 03 09 2008 Year of Manufacture 2008 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1598CC CO2 Emissions 165g/Km Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status SORN Not Due Vehicle Colour RED Vehicle Type Approval M1 HY58VAJ not found on DVLA So one miracle - HY58UWS is still going strong, and a mystery - was HY58VAJ real? While they did drown a Twingo which looked like an RS, it was not the car we saw driven on the public road. My guess is they used one which Renault would otherwise have crushed - pre-production or non standard spec or certification car - as it could not legally be driven in public. If I remember correctly, all the damage was done in the ferry terminal, ie private property, so the cars were switched beforehand and JC just used the junk car from then onwards. He survived the splash very well. |

He certainly did I have a feeling Renault would have been rubbing their hands together and laughing with the screen time this car got. |

This was a Renault press car but they knew nothing about this, apparently. |
