It seems to be a make. We have several vehicles of that make... |

Its true both Austin and Morris were advertised as 'Austin-Commercial' and 'Morris-Commercial'. edit... However I associate that when they were part of BMC in the 1960s not earlier - don't know that it applied then? -- Last edit: 2006-03-23 00:18:19 |

Morris Commercial Cars Limited operated between 1924-1968. In 1936, Morris sold Morris Commercial Cars to Morris Motors Limited. In the BMC era after 1952, the importance of Morris Commercial as an operating subsidiary declined….. The use of the Morris Commercial name on vehicles was discontinued in 1967-68. Source: http://www.warwick.ac.uk/services/library/mrc/ead/226mc.htm#N1340 I can find no reference for 'Austin-Commercial' so guess it never existed as a company or brand? It was probably just 'Austin'. |

Wow. it gets well and truly mangled by that train. Didnt the local bus company try to sabotage the train line by parking the truck there? |

They did, but as you can see, they failed. |

1932 C-Type 2-ton normal control Morris-Commercial C13/40. Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" edit: 2-ton rather than 4/5-ton which applied to J-type 1931-34 which had a longer chassis (similar wheelbase but more rear overhang) -- Last edit: 2014-10-28 13:50:47 |
