Though I'm a bit surprised by the yellow glass. Ususally French cars had clear glass and yellow bulbs.

Not always. I think, in the 70ies and early 80ies this yellow glass was quite common, especially for such round standard lamps, as this Audi above has it. This size for example was used for many different cars, (Audi 80 and 100, Scirocco, Passat, K 70, BMW E3, E21, E12, Lada 1500, Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Jensen Interceptor and many more) - and in France they were yellow.

If I'm looking in my motor magazines from the 70ies (randomly I'm just busy with sorting my K 70-literature-collection), I must say, that the most cars in French magazines (articles as advertises) does have yellow glasses. Yellow bulbs seems to be usual for cars with specific own head lamps, for example the rectangular ones.

@Raul: no, I've not forgot it. I still have the address of the guy, who has a garage full with old motor-magazines, right here , in front of my PC. But now, at -10 degrees, I'm not really keen on to rummage this non-heated garage. ;)

-10 degrees is nothing Ingo ;) In Finland we are having close to -20 for several weeks now. Let me know your address (send me an e-mail).

But you aren't busy outside, at these temperatures, eeh?

I know, I'm getting old. :)
It's long time ago, where me and a friend had been outside at -12 degrees - to dismantle a K 70-wreck. No indoor-space, no light, no valubable/usable tools, etc.
Engine and gear box we'd lifted out with a rope and a trailer-coupling lifting up with our shoulders. So they were, the days of the innocent youth... :D

e-mail is on the way

P.S.We'll try to make icy vacations next year. My wife is very interested: http://www.sampotours.com/pages/kielet/english/icebreaker.php :)
