There are actually 2 types of bikes in these pictures. The one in the main picture is a Triumph Model 5/4 or 5/5 from around 1935 designed by Val page and recognisable by the double cradle frame and aluminium primary case. The other bike is a Model 5H or Tiger 90, built in 1937/38 and designed by Edward Turner. Recognisable by the single cradle frame and parallel pushrods. It was the successor of the Model 5/5 and was discontinued in 1939 because of the success of the Tiger 100 and Speedtwin. (With thanks to my father who owns both a 5H and a 5/4) |
