Scene set in Prague, so of course they used old European cars.![]() |

And using old Volvos and Mercedes is especially silly, since you can get new ones in the US. Perhaps they just think everyone in Ye Olde Europe drives Ye Olde Cars. Or perhaps they still have an image of the Czech Republic as a decrepid communist country. ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-01-24 00:02:54 |

That scene had me kind of confused. At first, the location is identified as Prague. On-screen it reads, "Six Months Later. Prague." ![]() Next, the mission is revealed to be a training exercise. I thought that the location was actually a secret training center made to look like Prague, like a movie studio backlot. ![]() Then, they show them at a train station in what's really supposed to be Prague. Cinema Vehicle Services (http://www.cinemavehicles.com/) has a green 1972 Citroen DS in its inventory. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() At $300 to $400 a day plus transportation costs, I can't help but think that renting a brand new European car would be much cheaper. -- Last edit: 2012-02-11 05:37:20 |

they ruined the looks (and aerodynamics) of these Citroëns with the awful US spec lights (all though not as bad as the SM) -- Last edit: 2010-01-24 01:34:16 |

As far as I could find out there were only DSpecial, DS 21 and DS 21 Pallas on the US-market. I guess the DSpecial had (like in Europe) grey plastic interior door handles. The Pallas had a lot more side chrome, even though the hubcaps shown here belong to a Pallas version. For me it will rather be a 'normal' DS 21, but the badge on the bootlid is missing (as are the double chevrons...), repainted in an unoriginal colour and furnished with strange looking blue plastic seats. Since it's got a 'normal' gear shifter it is a Grand Route. |

Wasn't this background used several times before in other movies? I think, someone has posted recently, that it's the "European town" of a movie-company. |

There was a green one in Alias, but it is another shade of green I guess? /vehicle_34399-Citroen-DS-21-1970.html |

Yes, the Alias car is painted in a non-metallic paint. Only metallic green on DS was http://www.nuancierds.fr/AC%20527%20Vert%20Argente.htm which is clearly lighter than the green of the Chuck DS. |

It's the European Village on the Universal Studios backlot in Hollywood. |

I think this same Citroen was in last night's NCIS, in a scene set in Paris (also a Mini and a Smart, so not all Parisians drive 30-year-old US-spec cars). |

Unfortunately, if you're the picture car co-ordinator for a show filmed in Los Angeles and you need to find cars for a scene set in Europe, that really is the best you can hope for. |
