I just read in Rétroviseur #88 (dossier Frégate) that handling was quite good, suspension even very good (only Citroën being better), but gearshifting was a nightmare... I agree that the Frégate shown here looks like a 1955 version, by the bumper. But the chrome trim of the windscreen and the chrome (not painted) oval framing of the grille would rather point to a 1956 model. So I'd go for a 1956 with non-original bumper. The car does look quite upmarket because of the (aftermarket) Robergel hubcaps. |

The '55 had a thin chromed oval frame too. The '56 model had a bigger bar across the grill, I really do believe this beeing a '55. |

Well, it was quite confortable, but heavy and under-powered in my opinion. Mine was a "Transfluide '59" , which made it more anemic ![]() |
