Hi Sunbar & Chris40 (re Murder in the Library) I know for sure that this is not a Hillman "Hawk"!! It is the rarer 1936 Hillman "16" (only 2 or 3 exist to my knowledge)which has, amongst other things, a smaller engine than the Hawk. It was used by the star of the film, Joan Hickson (Agatha Cristie's Miss Jane Marple) so perhaps deserves 3 stars. It is featured near the end of the film sweeping up the drive of a large house, where Joan leans out of the window and talks to someone before instructing the driver to take her to the station to catch a train to London. This same car was also used in the 1984 BBC TV film "Waving to a train". |
