Full-time 4-wheel-drive is provided by a proper 4x4 system. The system uses a New Venture 244 2-speed transfer gearbox with high and low-lock 4-wheel-drive. Low range was 2.72:1 and the vehicle’s off road crawl was 31.99:1. A limited-slip rear differential or locking rear differential was not available, but 4-wheel electronic traction control was optional. 2009 was the last model year for the Durango, with the vehicle returning for the 2011 or 2012 model year in unibody form with little or no off road capability.
