My neighbour has bought a "normal" Qashqai (without +2) a few weeks ago. Well, it´s brand-new so the facelifted version. It´s a 2.0 dCi with an automatic gearbox and it´s 4WD. And it´s absolutely fantastic. It´s very powerful and the handling and ride comfort are great, too. Furthermore it´s almost full equipped. It has got xenon headlights, satnav (touchscreen) with rear view camera, a panorama sunroof, 18" wheels and special headlights for the day. Link to "www.sparky.ch" |

Sounds weird reading about all this high-tech stuff after the 504 Break's! ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-03-31 21:36:49 |

A friend of mine is getting one too apparently. He is going down to one car to replace a MINI and a 7 Series. Build in Sunderland, UK. -- Last edit: 2011-03-31 21:39:52 |

Are you sure they're all built in UK? |
◊ 2011-03-31 21:41 |
Well, wikipedia says, that all Qashqai´s are built in Sunderland, UK. So Sandie is right. |

No, it says they are also built in Japan. Unless this is in the UK, I'm guessing this one's Japanese. |

Seems to be pictures from the unveilling at the British motorshow: http://www.carpages.co.uk/nissan/nissan-qashqai-2-23-07-08.asp |

Hey - I can agree with m.pfaffeneder's taste in cars. Qashqais are excellent, apart from the name. But I doubt if we'll convince the owner of Schrödingo's cat. |

Sure, I'm not convincible, that's no question ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-03-31 22:05:27 |

Ah, I guess it is built in UK after all then... |

Sorry, but you're wrong. It has some remarkable disadvantages. For example: it's too small inside. Yesterday we made a test-seat (my wife is more active now for looking for a new car, since her Astra G DTi makes more and more problems) and soon she wants to make a test-ride. It's too small for me. I'm bumping with my head at the ceiling. The drivers seat is height-adjustable, but not the passengers seat. Not possible even in the highest trim line. The space in the glovebox is wee, too. The Navi-screen is too small and when the tailgate is open, I'm bumping with my head against it, too. Quite poor, all this, for a car in such size. ![]() |

@ingo: That´s the only problem with this car. I´ve got problems, too (I am 1,88 m tall). Unfortunately the Qashqai from my neigbour has got the panorama roof, so there is not much space for your head. And the tailgate is another problem, but my neighbour says that you get used to it. |

At least you are tall enough to reach the pedals: Link to "www.walesonline.co.uk" |

His fault. Why hasn't he ordered it with automatic and cruise control? ![]() Or has mounted the wooden blocs as here: /vehicle_710-Auburn-851-Speedster-1935.html -- Last edit: 2011-10-31 22:45:31 |

When I were a lad, we had a very small chemistry teacher who owned an MG Magnette [ADO38] which had the huge near-vertical steering wheel. We were convinced he drove by looking through rather than over the wheel. He also had sticky-out ears, so was nick-named Neddy. Nowadays I'm sure it would be something Hobbit-related. |

@dsl: A propos "the owner of Schrödingo's cat"- how did you come up with that nickname? |
◊ 2011-11-01 21:14 |
@cl82 - see /vehicle.php?id=199812 . It made some sort of sense at the time ... (and gave me an excuse to link to Noggin the Nog, which was as significant a part of my early life as Hillman Imps). -- Last edit: 2011-11-01 21:21:34 |
