Hemi 'Cuda was the actual name given to Hemi-powered versions of the Barracuda. They even have "'Cuda" badges on the rear panel. Hemi Barracuda is not strictly correct. |

Yep, thats right. But not every Cuda is necessarily equipped with a Hemi. Cudas where even built with the "small" 340cid engine. "Cuda" stands for the sporty version of the Barracuda. Chrysler decided to take the name on, beacuse earlier Barracudas where cold that way by there drivers. This 'Cuda has the dual-scooped standard 'Cuda hood, which rules out a Hemi engine. Hemi 'Cudas came with Shaker hoods standard, whereas Shakers were optional on 340, 383, and 440 'Cudas. Oddly enough, Dodge Challenger R/Ts all had the Shaker as optional, including Hemi models. |
