And the Pontiac Sunfire was based on the Chevrolet Cavalier platform but with different bodywork and badges (and possibility motors). How are they not the same? GM practically invented badge engineering: Taking the same car and building in different countries with different specs with different names and badges. If one division of a whole comes up with comes up with a idea and that whole decides to take that idea and apply it to multiple levels of that whole, it makes it just a bit confusing to take what you are saying mainly because of the fact that the Vectra was thought up by a designer at Opel (in Germany) and then made for Vauxhall to sell. So in that vein, this is a German (DE) model that was made for Vauxhall in England (in particular, Great Britain, or GB), which I feel justifies the tag change although that is up to interpretation.
