I'm almost certain it is a 350 Boxer, but the Tractors section of the bmsidan site (http://www.bmsidan.se/english/index.html) seem to be down - I like to check these against that first before being too sure. :-( |

I agree, and it should probably be grouped alongside the other 'Volvo BM 350 "Boxer"'. Look here for proof Link to "www.volvo.com" The BM stands for the two tractor makers Bolinder and Munktell that Volvo bought in 1950. This is probably pernickety, but as the 350 model was launched in 1959 and ceased in 1967 the correct name is 'BM-Volvo 350' as the brand name wasn't changed to 'Volvo BM' until 1972. The "Boxer" nickname has nothing to do with the engine (stright three cylinder diesel) but rather an impression as a faithful and reliably dog. Indeed very important for a farmer. |
