Please note that this is not a Corniche II, but an early Corniche probably built between 1971 and 1980. A Corniche II was built between 1986(in Europe) and 1989. It's just in the details. |

Again, the details. The square rearview mirror and the Shadow II facia surround would tell us that it is 1977 at the earliest, but the headlamp wash-wipes let us know that it couldn't be earlier than a 1978. The highback seats then let us know that it is no earlier than 1980, as this style was introduced when the Silver Spirit series came out. |

How does it get smashed? |

Driver does not watch the road ahead and crashes into a garbage truck which was stopped (3rd thumbnail) Though that the way the crash is seen (from driver's view I think) it could have been faked. -- Last edit: 2015-05-12 17:01:43 |

In the audio comment of the dvd, the film director says "for the accident, we have used a Méhari(Citroën) than we had made as a RR ". These scene is shoot on the bonnet, we just seen the Victory of Samothrace (and smoke). The real RR was just to tinker with. ![]() |

Those thumbs are pretty good quality for 2006... |

Antp edited his 2006 comment to replace the thumbs with HD ones. |

The crashed car doesn't look like a Citroën Méhari. However, it has Bentley alloy wheels. |

If plate is genuine it's 2001 = film date. Maybe re-registered or an import to F?? Apart from replacing bonnet and grille and touching up bumper strip, all crash damage looks as if could easily be screwed/pushed back into place. I don't think the car was really hurt. |

Because the crash isn't seen from the side; what he describes is the one seen from inside the car (seen from the driver's set, as I said above, easier to fake). What is seen on the pics is only after the crash. -- Last edit: 2015-05-13 16:23:37 |

@dsl: IIRC the car would have been re-registered if it were sold or the owner moved to a different département. |
