Interesting selection of airport vehicles! Another CA Bedford at lower right. Roadsweeper is an oddball. Anyone know the location? |

I think Heathrow, when they returned from America in February 1964. |

I've no authority for this, but the 'face' suggests ERF. Comments? |

Its a Foden KR6/24 'Python Mk.II' aircraft refueller made by Thompson Brothers. Foden chassis 'Esso' refueller stationed at Heathrow airport. Actually a rigid truck, a 8x4 Foden KR6/24 tipper chassis adapted as a tractor unit and powered by Rolls-Royce C6NFR six-cylinder engine. The round shape is I believe the 'Esso' roundal added to the cab front. I don't beleive there were any similar ERF tankers. At least two 12,000 gallon tankers were commisioned by Esso as the Python Mk.II by Thompson Brothers (Bilston) Ltd.
