Honda Concerto (1988-91) It was developed mainly for Rover, and sold in Japan and some countries. http://www.honda.co.jp/factbook/auto/CONCERTO/19880615/co88-005.html -- Last edit: 2006-05-09 15:24:10 |

OK! We have had a Concerto in Holland but not this model. |

The hatchback version was sold in Belgium (and Netherlands I guess, that's what you mean by "not this model" ?), maybe not the sedan -- Last edit: 2006-05-09 16:10:46 |

Yes, sorry, not the sedan, the hatchback was sold in Holland (1990-1994) |

The Honda Concerto / Rover R8 (200/400 series) was a joint development programme between the two companies for the European models using a majority of common parts. The Honda was built at Swindon in the UK for export to the rest of Europe. From http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/index.htm?hhrstoryf.htm "Interestingly, the Honda Concerto, in Japanese form, was treated to all independent double-wishbone suspension, front and rear (which required different floorpans for their European and Japanese versions!) – because Honda wanted to maintain their engineering purity." -- Last edit: 2006-05-09 16:30:08 |

Not necessarily made in the UK - Wikipedia says it was made in Japan as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Concerto Not made for Japan either. This scene is supposed to be in mainland China, but I think it might have been filmed in Taiwan, because the Chinese number plate is a replica and doesn't fit properly. (Taiwan has US size plares.) |

Built in: UK should be deleted, since not all Concertos were. Made for: J should be deleted because this is not in Japan. |

Taiwan, I think. |

I am very sure this is Hong Kong. Its very unlikely that they filmed it in China. They are driving on the right side for filming to make it look like its in China. Fake chinese number plate aswell. -- Last edit: 2017-07-09 10:31:02 |

If the Pontiac Grand Am /vehicle_32388-Pontiac-Grand-Am-1990.html is part of the same scene, I don't think it is Hong Kong. There are taffic signs on the right hand side of the road (and they are not Hong Kong style) and the Pontiac does not have any number plate. If it's not mainland China, my guess is Taiwan. |

The number plate "YUE A" means this region is Guangzhou, Gunagdong province. |

We can tell from the penetrating taillights that it's an early version of the JDM version, as the Euro-spec Concerto's license plate is on the tailgate lid. Also, gray imports were common in China during the 1990s, especially in Guangdong Province. So it's a JDM Honda Concerto that has been converted to LHD. But it appears that it was replaced with taillights from a 1988 Civic sedan... I think it's probably due to a lack of parts, especially for such an odd gray import. -- Last edit: 2024-05-17 14:25:05 |
