and it was a third generation model made between 1999 and 2006. it was sold in the United States from 1982 to 2006. in North and South America as well as in Spain and India, it is known and sold as the Montero. in the majority of markets it is known as the Pajero, which was named after the Leopardus pajeros, the Pampas Cat which is native to the Patagonia plateau region in Argentina. the term "pajero" is also an offensive term for "wanker" in Spanish, so alternative names have been used in markets overseas. -- Last edit: 2011-06-11 02:13:19 |

Has to be a Sport because it looks smaller. Also, it appears to be an ES due to sportier wheels and a body-colored spare tire shell. |

No it's the larger Montero, not the smaller Montero Sport. -- Last edit: 2011-08-09 06:31:46 |

I don't believe there was an ES trim for the full size Montero here in NA. The trims were XLS/Limited. The only motor offered for 2003-2006 in NA was the 3.8 V6 [V77W]. Trims were: 2003: XLS, 20th Anniversary (not much I can find on this), & Limited 2004: XLS, & Limited 2005 & 2006: Limited https://www.autoblog.com/mitsubishi/montero/ |
