Is it a AEC Routemaster in a (April) 1958 movie? Also I can see some differences, I think. An oil reservoir on the front panel (edit: or the radiator and bonnet?) and the size of the opening upper glass in the side window looks large? "The production Routemaster buses started to trickle off the lines at Southall (AEC) and Park Royal in May 1959, after RM8 in September 1958." source: Ian's bus stop site http://www.countrybus.org/RM Unless it is a prototype or test vehicle? edit, 2: The thumbnail No. 2 could also be the same bus - Side advertisement - "You can tell a Vantella Shirt". -- Last edit: 2010-09-24 22:29:36 |

It IS the same bus (second capture is taken after - maybe - second). |

This is clearly an RT of some kind, look at the position of the fuel filler, halfway down the bus and not just behind the front wheel, and you can see the top of the radiator. The front mudguard is the wrong shape for a RM as well. |

In that case I believe its a Leyland RTW. The edge of the rear destination board in the thumbnail is not close to being in alignment with edge of the nearside of the lower deck rear window as on the narrow AEC RT. |

I did wonder about the top of the radiator looking a bit squarer than an AEC, but the picture is very indistinct. I agree with your analysis that this is an RTW. |

Sorry ! |
