You were not the only one to wonder about that: http://www.usedcarmart.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-923.html So it would be a modified Toyota Celica. But I cannot find it using its license plate on the site that give vehicle license details. -- Last edit: 2010-10-13 11:50:58 |

The grill, maybe. But for the rest of the car I am not sure. It would be better to also have a side view actually... |

Not DVLA registered as either Vauxhall (my first guess) or imported Opel. |

This is a Toyota Celica modified for a TV advert in order to hide the badges, and it has been put on a false numberplate to make it look like a newer car... |

Looks like it has been in an accident at some time and been repaired with whatever was lying around.Bumper looks if it is off an Austin Montego!. |

Look, i found this car (a one closer to this one) without any modifications... |

2001? LOL! |
◊ 2006-07-25 16:34 |
it can't be 2001, the 2001 celica is the ZZT231, which isn't this one |

The lights have been changed, J-2 has got the right car... |

According this page, this car is a Land Rover Defender: http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/dvla_lookup/ And on DVLA is registered as Land Rover too -- Last edit: 2007-01-05 10:16:54 |

I was in complete confusion when I first saw this awful looking thing. They comment on several of the cars, including an insignificant Vauxhall Astra but they don't make a single comment on this, which seemed strange but I guess they just wanted to play with our minds. |

On mycarcheck it says that its a Land Rover Freelander Td4 Es Auto |
◊ 2008-06-14 18:55 |
I hate it when they do that! |

This is a celica convertible type st162 built from 1985 until 1990. At first it was a conversion by "Karrosseriefabrik VOLL (later renamed "Schwan")" in Germany based on the 2.0 GTI DOHC version, later on it became an offical toyota version from Toyota (still adapted by Voll) The picture of the white one is the correct one, but the car from top gear has been adapted to become anonimous for advertising purposes. Actually it has been adapted with parts of the Corona Coupé (as only sold in some areas like Australia etc...) which was a celica with a corona nose. In this case the blinkes and grill were adapted and a vauxhall logo seems to have been mounted. The Bumper is NOT montego but standard celica Must have picture of such a celica somewhere (also somewhere on facebook in celica club belgium. I am actually the lucky owner of one of the first convertibles of this model, now 25 years old. |

Of course there was also side and rear view. Why did noone uploaded it? -- Last edit: 2015-03-07 00:16:58 |

I think the side view was posted previously here (or somewhere else?), maybe by someone who deleted his post later. Anyway, good to post it here -- Last edit: 2015-03-09 17:31:24 |

Not only are the modifications ugly, but so is the color. It looks like baby diarrhea brown. It's revolting. -- Last edit: 2024-11-15 18:44:12 |
