After looking at it long and hard I say it reads something like 'Exsur' or 'Exsyr.' Definitely something with Ex, then a cursive s or maybe even a V, then a g/y/fancy u and then what looks like an R. Tried all kinds of combinations but no results. |

Maybe it says Eysink? This was a Dutch bicycle make that built about 400 cars. Only one exists today, but there are a few brochure scans. Unsure if they were exported to Russia, probably not. From what is visible the script is kind of similar: https://live.staticflickr.com/1307/4685574761_a650d0acde_b.jpg Though it seems a sticker of one of the cars was sold in the USSR in the 70s: https://cache.osta.ee/iv2/auctions/1_1_21129380.jpg The same picture as distributed by Commodex gum of England: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/361434924925-0-1/s-l1000.jpg These Old World cars are a real challenge as you have much more options due to the amount of countries in Europe. -- Last edit: 2020-02-22 20:43:53 |

Could it read Loreley? Russia was an important export market for them. Or maybe Sperber? -- Last edit: 2021-03-24 16:29:03 |
