Based on the Sherpa, so model origin UK, built in Turkey. |

I'm sure it wasn't made only for Turkey. Had even Polish market episode. |

In terms of Sherpa-related models, the Levend name is specific to the Turkish BMC company. But BMC have now recycled it for their minibuses, which I see from googling are sold in Poland. ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-11-03 13:27:54 |

I remember 90s "Auto-Motor-Sport" Polish paper with full road test of BMC Levend and its prices. -- Last edit: 2010-11-03 13:37:21 |

LDV vans were also sold in Poland for a while, weren't they? Were they on sale at the same time as the Levend? |

LDV came to Poland later, probably due to Levend's completely defeat on market. I'll try to find this road test article. |

Before I forget, I found a French blog post from 2008 about the Levend: http://www.leblogauto.com/2008/10/bmc-levend-le-sherpa-est-toujours-la.html By then, the Levend vans had been replaced by the Megastar, leaving just the chassis-cab, which in turn has now been replaced by the Megastar. |

It is 1.8 sometimes known as Pick-up. Interesting would be if this Levend was sold here. To be honest never seen any at the street. British DAF's (former Leylands) with this design (well different grill) were quite popular here in the first half of 90's. In the second part of this decade there were face-lifted LDV's indeed. They were assembled by the DMP (in times when DMP and LDV were joined together). -- Last edit: 2010-11-03 17:21:07 |

The several LDV/DAF sold in the former GDR in 1990-1993 (they were quite popular there, but not in Western Germany), were they imported from Britain or Poland? -- Last edit: 2010-11-03 18:35:05 |

Here we assembled LDV's. This make was used for the first time in 1994. In Poland assembly of face-lifted LDV started in ca 1995 and then the facelifted Convoy was assembled as well: /vehicle_64957-LDV-Convoy-1996.html Majority of them (if not all) had here Polish Andoria engines. DAFs were imported from Britain (only the bigger 400 series we had, as I remember). -- Last edit: 2011-05-31 15:09:25 |
