stronghold ◊ 2006-05-27 18:15	Vicki tested this car on a Two & a half mile aircraft run-way to try to achieve it's max speed of 200+mph ...but the figures show ...it's best was 178mph ...and it was calculated that it would need another two & a half miles to get to it's max.!

splodge ◊ 2015-03-09 10:35	Vicki threw a fan belt when doing donuts and the Stig blew the clutch a few times when trying to do a Top Gear track test. Ended up a quick lap in the end but the early clutches were poor and weak. They have all been upgraded in the S versions and I suspect that is true for this one too. The car was owned by Aston Martin and then went onto a private plate when it was bought from them. Both this one and its sister UK launch car, which was used for photos only, are currently for sale in London. The other car has been converted to manual but this one is completely original and I think going back to the Reg plate shown here. It must be one of the first S's ever made. Vanquish - such a legend already.
