Interesting grille badge - does it say 1600 xxxx (ti? Alpina? something else?). |

1974 I think |

Hmmm, badge looks strange, 1802? |

Probably 1600ti: http://caterwauls.ca/photos/Bmw-1600%20ti.jpg |

1600ti link looks a good match. Disagree with 1802 or 1974+ date as no lower side trim. Did anybody tune early 1600s - Italian or German such as Alpina, Schnitzer, Conrero etc - who might have made an edition with the black grille, bonnet flash and sporty wheels as this one seems to have? |

The sporty wheels are Italian aftersales market-stuff. Very popular in the 70ies, mostly nice, classic Italian design - but in Germany usually not legal and so not available... |

Why has this moved from unknown to 2002 when no-one's mentioned 2002? Discussion so far seems to favour 1600 or 1600ti. |

Yes agree, could be a 1600ti with black panted grille-sides, but I don't think its a modified car by a tuner, it looks like self made. |

1600ti was made in 1968-1969 period only. This one has 1974+ elements (black wipers and grille). The grill could be changed after colision. |
