Too dark to identify details, but could be a (ca 1938) RR 25/30 HP. |

This is a Wraith with Freestone & Webb body (design 1998 made in 3 examples). Since only one went to California it can only be #WMB26. |

If clearly identified as an early Silver Wraith, listing as a '20/25' not accurate. |

Wraith or Silver Wraith? We have two occurrences listed as just "Wraith", and one as "20/25 Wraith": /vehicles_make-Rolls-Royce_model-WMB26.html I suppose all should be listed the same way... |

Wraith is a prewar car, Silver Wraith is a post war, different, car. 20/25 is a different car again, earlier, smaller 3669cc engine, with no i.f.s. 25/30 has 4257cc engine in similar chassis. The forward position of the radiator relative to the centreline of the front wheels suggests that this is a prewar Wraith, as suggested above, and not a 20/25 or a 25/30. Wraith built 1939 only, 491 chassis in total, 4257cc engine with all valves upstairs, similar to, but not identical with that of the 4.25 litre Derby Bentley. Front suspension like a Phantom III. All chassis built at Derby. Postwar Silver Wraith, 4257 or 4566cc i.o.e engine, similar to Mk VI Bentley or to Silver Dawn power units, two chassis wheelbase lengths, 127 inch or 133 inch. All chassis built at Crewe. -- Last edit: 2016-05-10 19:42:20 |
