If this has a black windscreen surround and is not a trick of the light, it is a later Mk3 from Oct 69. If it is a trick of the light I can not date it or Mark at all. The key lock for the bonnet was not a standard feature AFAIK. One for Bebert?

Go on then - you have our undivided attention. [Cue drum roll and spotlight].

Why only drums? Pipes belongs to drums! Very odd, that a Scotsman didn't know that (despite the immigration background, this self-evidence should be sit in the brain anyways) :p

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1B5njIbtOE&feature=fvst . You could add pipes, tubas, didgeridoos and a xylophone, but sometimes simple is best.

I'm no expert on the Spitfire but...

Spoiler - click here to see it

For the Mk.III in 1970 the brochure referred to the badges that are new, neat and attractive. http://www.triumphspitfire.nl/brochurepics/1970_mk3_03.jpg

So not a Mk.III I think?

@Bebert: :beer: for your music taste. Do you know that CD: Link to "www.amazon.de" ? My favourite :)

@Bebert. At least we can agree on Irish pipes. 'Sands of Kuwait' on Irish pipes can be stunning - youtube does not have a good simple version, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DulnY_0qAE&feature=related starts off well and there's a nice bagpipes version at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlQL9c3LKG8&feature=related . Northumbrian pipes also worth investigating - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZHRnjnyZUY and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09vbngMkCdo&feature=related .

As for this Spitfire, your mindgames are something you will have to play without me. You turn it into an ego session and destroy any enjoyment.

Well done, Sunbar!..
Donc MK3 1967+
@ingo dass kenne ich nicht.

@Bebert: très recommandé ;)

:think: dsl is the first Scotsman (though an immigrated), who gaves a cross-reference to non-Scottish bagpipers. Strange... Hopefully he's Scottish enough to be found here: Link to "www.google.de"

Ingo, I hope you're not suggesting I'm a tosser... Some close friends are Scottish pipers who also play non-Scottish pipes as well for variety/fun/to learn different instruments and techniques. Some of those links were music they introduced me to. For Scottish pipe-rock, there's a huge amount of cliched dross, but Ceolbeg (eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFH2wRIDiDQ&feature=related , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyJqZNxeX74&feature=related (same tune but different mix), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOFQ87j7aik ) and Wolfstone (eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13uzY5R4Upg and lots more on youtube) are worth exploring.

If I wouldn't be quite unsporting and have problems with my spinal discs, I would like to try it.

Thanks for the music-links. Sounds interesting. Unfortunately it seems, the "Parallel Tracks"-CD is lost. Probably we forgot it in the last holiday-accomodation. In Scotland.
