First appeared in an episode called 'The Taxicab Wars' the Corvette was not actually owned by Universal they just hired it from a rental company whenever it was needed for the show. Apparently it was a plain white 'Vette which they added red vinyl decals to before filming. |

This is one of the few styles of Vett's I actually like. But they're a B!TC# to get in and out of. |

I used to own a light metallic blue 1984 Chevrolet Corvette [C4] about two years ago. I know they only made 70 1983 Corvette [C4] Prototypes in which all of them were destroyed except number 23 which is now in the National Corvette Musuem in Bowling Green Kentucky. In 1983 it took the Corvette Factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky about six months to convert the line over, also workers were going on strike, and they had to keep going back to the drawing board. In March of 1983 they had introduce the Corvette [C4] as a brand new 1984 model. -- Last edit: 2011-02-23 20:21:46 |

Here's another interesting bit a trivia: One of the cars used as a test bed for the Corvette C4's running gear was a 1983 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon! The engineers had a little fun with it, and even dressed it up with Corvette badges and painted-over trim. At some point in later years it had been upgraded with a later C4 wheels and engine...it could have possibly been used for a testbed for either TPI or even LT1 engines. It was featured in a June 1998 Hot Rod Magazine article entitled "Beyond the Toy Box," which showed a lot of the hidden test mules still stored at the GM proving grounds. |

I think the wagon was a test vehicle for the TPI motor. i got a pic of it from barrettjackson.com when it was on barrett jackson auction earlier this year. i remember seeing it in that 1998 hot rod magazine along with a V12 caprice 4 door, the chevrolet CERV3 (was in the game test drive 3) and a push me pull me Citation which was AWD with 2 2.8 V6's in it -- Last edit: 2009-07-01 08:25:52 |

Oh my gosh, when Face drove up in his new 'vette, I about lost my mind! I've never been crazy about 'em, but this one just looks too good! |
