You got to remember that some of the vehicles during the production do recycle for another episode to save their money. For Mr. T's Van uses older van for the jump stunts. I believe there are some of the vehicles at the background scene are used by the personal vehicles by the production company. |

@rjluna2: You're the expert - I consider purchasing the entire series in order to find an occasional escape from everyday stress... I hardly ever watched an episode before as we didn't have commercial TV at home back then, but remember "The Taxicab Wars" (watched it at a schoolmate's home) and quite liked it as classic US popcorn entertainment. Based on this - would you say "yeah, go ahead, that's a typical A-Team episode" or rather "Beware! (Many) other episodes are totally different and you may regret buying it"? I'm a bit cautious, because I also loved The Fall Guy back in the day, but rediscovering it decades later was a major(s) disappointment... |

A-team is very fomulaic in the first 3 seasons, A-team comes to the rescue (usually hired) of blue collar people opressed and terrorized by thugs Season 4 they do get more into the background of A-team members like BA's mother, Faceman's father and so and we get guest roles from C-list celebraties like Hulk Hogan and Boy George, we also get variety in plots , like in one episode Murdock is kidnapped by robbers who want to use him to fly helicopter in a heist Season 5 is where the show was rewamp, Frankie was added to the mix and now the A-team instead of helping blue collar people they became General Stockwel's forced hired muscle for his secretive missions I can suggest some other 80s' TV shows you might try - Street Hawk (13 episodes and IMO much better than Knight Rider) - Hardcastle and McCormik, this one actually has a proper series finale - Sledge Hammer , over the top comedy , lasted 2 seasons - Captain Power and the soldiers of the Future, on the surface a kids show but it's much more deep that that, Cyberpunk elements - Stingray, secretive guy with many skills does jobs for favours instead of money, really good variety in plots and directing styles from episode to episode, lasted about 25 episodes - Max Headroom, another cyberpunk TV show referenced in Back to the Future 2 , lasted 14 episodes - Hunter, first 3 seasons only, a TV version of Dirty Harry - Miami Vice, first 3 seasons... - MacGyver , first 4 seasons - Riptide , another Stephen J Cannell action comedy show - Moonlighting, Bruce Willis and Cybil Sheppard in a detective comedy, lots of breaking the fourth wall later in the series -- Last edit: 2023-02-04 21:10:29 |

Wow, double-decker embarrassment! Bit overworked lately, aren't I? Thanks @rjluna2, I wasn't aware, but definitely appreciate your meticulous work here! And thanks @mike962 for the excellent reply! That was very helpful and exactly what I was hoping for - I apologize for not mentioning you as well, even though I actually know your recommendations have been golden in the past! Sounds like I'm going to order the DVDs, hoping the Murdoch character won't get on my nerves too much, and maybe just disregard season 5 or even watch it in the end - this will keep me busy for the next 3 years, I guess, because I'm very slow with watching anything at all. Thus, all the other shows you mentioned may be something for the distant future... I know Riptide (wasn't a favourite of mine) and recently watched an episode on Youtube, but none of the characters convinced me. And Miami Vice, which I didn't like at all back then, even though Crockett's Theme is a memorable part of my youth. I know of at least some of the other shows you mentioned, but probably never even watched a single episode. So much stuff, so little time - that's why I ask questions like that, because it's always a long-time commitment. -- Last edit: 2023-02-04 22:15:54 |

try Street Hawk first only 13 episodes so you can go thru quickly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c_-KvMTOOc The bike has super peformace but is not sentient ,Jesse talks to his buddy Norman Tuttle instead of the bike. What rocks in this show is the Tangerine Dream soundtrack used thru the series, the stunts, there are onscreen killings here unlike the sanititized Knight Rider... and IMO Rex Smith is a better actor than The Hoff. What isn't that great is the quite big difference in episode quality. You have ep 2 "A Second self" one of the very best episodes in the series (maybe the best, young Geoge Clooney guest starred) followed by ep 3 one of the worst of series, then ep 4 "Vegas Run" again one of the very best of the series (Sybil Danning guest starred ) , followed by ep 5. again one of the very worst.... then ep 6 again a very good episode and then it's started to even out until the end, heck it's almost like the STAR TREK movies fomula, odds = bad, even = good and because the show was short lived it never jumped the shark !!, there was no evil Street Hawk (Ala KARR or Airwolf 2) sudden cast changes or tonal shifts or crap like that there are some 80s shows I could mention but IMO probably (for me at least) not as entertaining as the ones I already mentioned - Spenser For Hire, 3 sesons, this is primarily a detective show solving complex crime cases, has some action scenes occassionally , often aired on germn TV , nice location shooting and Hawk was a cool character (played by Avery Brooks) - Remington Steel, pre fame Pierce Brosnan, another detective show, avoid last season, it ruined it - TJ Hooker , the Shatner as badass street cop, best seasons 3 and 4 when young Heather Locklear and James Darren was added to the cast , but you are better off with the first 3 seasons of Hunter , it's the better cop show in every way - Scarecrow and Mrs. King , espionage comedy with Bruce Boxleitner and Kate Jackson , lasted 4 seasons -- Last edit: 2023-02-09 11:34:02 |

Thank you. Now do you see how much easier that is? It allows us to validate the pics much quicker. And when you add the replacement pic, we can view them side by side (more or less) and then we don't have to edit or delete your comments. |
