What is the difference between a 105 and a 120 ?? This car is one of both. |

looks like 105 to me. From this angle it is very hard to tell - it could be also early 120. Late 120 and 130 had diffrent taillight + the main difference is in engine ![]() |

The difference is the engine size. It is the Škoda Type 742 which was available as model 105 S, 105 L, 105 GL, 105 SP (46 hp, 1046 cc), model 120, 120 L, 120 LE, 120 GL (52 hp, 1174 cc) and the top of the range 120 LS and 120 GLS (58 hp). It was produced 1976-90. |

Yes, so maybe we can use it as chassis code for 105, 120, 130? For coupes based on Typ 742 (Garde and Rapid), the code is: Typ 743. The problem is only with last versions (1987-90): 135/136 = Typ 746 and 135/136 Rapid = Typ 747, but sedans are quite easy for the identification (if we can see the grill). -- Last edit: 2006-11-28 15:13:59 |

Definitely it's a 1979, 105S car (or basic 120). Without aluminium grill on rear wall (to 08/1978) & tiny black spoiler on rear bonnet (since 1980 model). -- Last edit: 2009-12-09 19:47:58 |
