By the position of the bumper overriders I go for a 1949 Studebaker Champion ( 8G) ( on 1947 and 1948 models they were placed more inboard). |

Despite the poor quality of this photo, I'm fairly certain this is a '47 Champion for 2 reasons: 1) The bumper guards. They appear to be of the fatter type with rounded knobs on top, a feature unique to the Champion front bumpers and the rear bumpers of both Champions and Commanders. (In '48 and '49, the Champion guards were narrower with no knobs.) 2) The hood medallion appears to be taller than it is wide. The '48 and '49 models were wider, with wings. (Ignor the reflection on the left side.) We also know this is not a Starlight since it has a divided windshield. Either a 2-door or 4-door sedan. -- Last edit: 2011-04-15 17:32:56 |
