@ahight: you mean that one? Just the pic beside. Obviously a concept-car - but noch German either. As I know, the New Beetle, also the Cabriolet, was developed in the U.S. |

yep. this one looks like it just has the roof cut off with a small cover added. the other looks to be a functioning convertible - at least that's what it looked like when i watched the movie. |

The "sausage" roof is shaped differently when open, and the rear bumper sits a bit lower, but otherwise, it's pretty close to the production car. And why the heck does everyone keep saying the Cabrio came out in 2001? It came out in 2003! |
