BC Transit colors, and the movie was filmed in British Columbia. Almost certainly a GMDD (Canadian) New Look. |

Looks like one of the 35-footers. A bunch of them were sold off by Transit to Slater Iron & Salvage because Transit wanted them scrapped vs. turned into motorhomes or left rotting in peoples' yards still wearing BC Transit colours. When Transit was uncooperative in lending some of these productions the buses they wanted, the picture car people found out that Slater had the scrap contract, and actually rented the buses from Slater for use in filming (because they were *driven* to the scrappers - which is still happening to this day.) BC Transit was evidently outraged but there's nothing they could do as Slater was still good legally if they scrapped the buses as per contract - but there was nothing in the legalese to say *when* they had to scrap them (i.e., they could wait until after the movie companies were finished with them ![]() Normally the buses in this scheme have a four-digit unit number in white written in that blue space just beneath the windshield, and centered. The headsign looks borrowed from something generic, as we had nothing like that on our system. |
