I don't think this incomplete view of a background vehicle adds anything to the site. Could this be a candidate for deletion?

Maybe I’m just being too picky, but it seems to me that this partial view with people standing in the way, and the pole in front of it, and the back of the car cut off isn’t really worth the bother of mentioning. I’m still a relative newcomer to the site, maybe someone does like to see pictures of this sort or feel the need to document them? :??:

I had recently read G-MANN’s posting on cleaning up the “Goodfellas” page by deleting some of the unnecessary images. With this idea still fresh in my mind, I thought this picture could be a similar case. Maybe deletion is a little extreme; you can tell it is a Mustang after all.

I guess the point I’m trying to make is that I really like the site, it just seems that sometimes there are (in my opinion anyway) way too many extraneous and non-remarkable pictures of random/common background vehicles that would probably not be missed if they were not there. :D

You haven't been here very long, many times I've debated about background vehicles (and there are many pictures where the cars are far less visible than this one), at the beginning of this year I started a discussion on this in the forum and held a poll to find out whether people thought there were too many background vehicle being listed on this site. I was hoping to get people to set some stricter guidelines so contributors wouldn't post so many (with films set in cities some people post loads of passing-by background vehicles, some are very small and some are quite blurry) but antp (the head-honcho of this site) said that setting rules and enforcing them would be difficult, and the truth is that the administrators who post the most background vehicles (I'm not naming any names) have no desire to change their habits. So I've decided to lay off this issue now, even though occaisionally it still bothers me (antp also agrees a lot of background vehicles are pointless to list), the problem it's not always easy to decide which background vehicles are interesting and worth listing and which aren't, and not everyone has the same ideas about this, some people even think anything goes. What might seem a boring everyday car to an American might be more interesting to a European because they don't have them where they live and vice-versa. Sometimes even I list background vehicles that might not be very visible. But with Goodfellas I just want to focus on that particular film and tidy up the page a little.

If you want to read through the discussions we've already had on this in the forum, they are in the "General" section here: Link to "forum.imcdb.org"

and here: Link to "forum.imcdb.org" you can even vote in the poll if you want to.

That Mustang is quite visible compared to many others that should be deleted first, IMHO.

Grille looks to be 1968. Are we sure it is not a convertible?
