1300 I think /vehicle_251378-Volkswagen-1300-Typ-1.html |

I know, but I'm not sure if it's the same. As the one in the other movie had a badge on the engine lid if I remember correctly. Also it doesn't have the creepy smile on the trunk lid. There are tens of such Beetles in Norway as of today (back in 2002 and 1997 for that matter too). -- Last edit: 2011-06-30 15:03:14 |

Not difficult ![]() - banana vents - 1302-engine-lid - full black dashboard - 4-spoke plastic steering wheel = 1973 only 1300 This disgusting steering wheel is the reason, why I always disliked the 1974/75 K 70. It's mounted there, too, also the full-metal combination switch for indicators and wiper (used also in the Golf I, it has a 171... part number). It's seeming so cheap and ugly, that it's a reason to avoid cars with them ![]() |

@Ingo: the one in the 2002 movie, is it the same as this one? I have a feeling it's a different one, especially now, when I see it doesn't have the banana vents. |

Hmm, the pics there are bad, so the "banana vent-question" is not clearly to solve due the dark paint - also here, I had to check several thumbnails until becoming convinced, that they are there. Are interior-shots of the 2002 movie? Or only better detailed pics from the back? |

Hey, don't call my pics bad! ![]() I'll add some extra thumbs on that page soon. |

Rocket style tail lamp. 1972 model? 1973 model Elephant foot, I think... |

@5503: ![]() But if you read the text on the Beetle-page very carefully, it's to realize, that the elephant-foot taillights were only referred to the 1303, not the whole range. |

Japanese 1300 & USA standaerd (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/73whatyear/page2.jpg) is elephant foot. How will about the Norway specifications? |

Same as on the European, with the addition of repeaters and mudflaps (removed on this one as this law was abolished by the mid-1980s). |

It seems, that it's indeed an unique combination for these two countries, the elephant foot lamps for the 1300. In Europe the 1300 was never sold with them. 1973 was the last year of the 1300. My VW-range-brochures are all European, except: ![]() @5503: what says the text about the 73-MY 1300? ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-07-01 21:26:10 |

@Ingo: now that you're here, would you mind taking another look on Pelle in the 2002 movie? I've added a bunch of new thumbnails there. |

There were for sure two different cars, both 1300, but one older without banana vent and one newer (that one from this series?) with them. |
