Is this definitely Argentinian? Could the Spanish number plate be real? |

AFAIK Argentinian Dauphines and Gordinis always had the US-style barred bumpers. I cannot see much detail, but with this license plate I think it most probably is a FASA built Dauphine, indeed. Is it possible to know the date of this car (by the license plate)? If between 1961 and 1964 it can be listed as 'Made for E' as well, because of the then there still used old indicators. -- Last edit: 2011-07-05 11:32:16 |

To find the age of a Spanish registration, you can download Limix Matrículas or just wait for a Spanish user who's already got it. ![]() |

Argentinian Dauphine with spanish plates. Not pre-1972 plates. |

Maybe IMDB is notcomplete in listing the filming locations... This is for sure not an Argentinian (nor Brazilian, Mexican or US) version. Edit: but I'm a bit puzzled by the rubber on the overriders, normally only seen on Ondine versions (which this one isn't)... -- Last edit: 2011-07-05 20:51:26 |

Perhaps an Argentinian Renault enthusiast imported it from Spain. |

I suppose you'll just have to watch the film then. ![]() |

If we would have some botanists or bicycle-experts here, the location should be identifyable ![]() P.S. The plate looks authentic. -- Last edit: 2011-07-07 00:30:35 |

@ingo: The location? looks in the northwest of the Argentina. Catamarca, Salta or Jujuy looks good. But some roads of Córdoba (which runs the WRC) too. |
