It's a 2011 because the side says "5.0" |

There are also some slight styling changes front and rear to seperate 2010 GTs and 2011 GTs. But the 5.0 badge is the easiest way to seperate them. |

The California license plate on the car, 4DOQ678, is a common prop license plate.![]() It has been used in several other productions: "Flash Forward" Ep. 1.01: /vehicle_250841-Ford-Crown-Victoria-P71-2000.html "Lost" Ep. 5.02: /vehicle_224611-Chevrolet-TrailBlazer-2004.html "90210" (/movie_1225901.html) Ep. 2.06: ![]() "New Girl" (/movie.php?id=1826940) Ep. 1.02: ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-02-11 23:12:02 |

This new 5.0 liter engine sounds really nice |

From the parts of it I have seen in the trailer, it looks really pretty bad. Not in any way good enough for a movie which main aim is - driving. What a shame. They could have done a lot better. If that is really worth the money to destroy both a Mustang and a Chrysler 300 for filming that .... ![]() |

I'm not absolutely sure Driving is the main aim of the film. It's a much more complicated film than that. It's not something like the Fast and the Furious films where everything is centred upon the cars and driving. |

I've read the summary of it, and too I have seen the trailer. I am not meaning to put it in the same category as race movies. But I still would have expected more car action, or, if there is only few of it, then at least good car action which impresses the audience. And which could be realistic. |

The problem is that with such title, plot, etc. you expect more car action indeed. One of the possible reasons: (from IMDB trivia) |

Drive: to strive vigorously toward a goal or objective; to work, play, or try wholeheartedly and with determination. an inner urge that stimulates activity or inhibition; a basic or instinctive need: the hunger drive; sex drive. |

This looks like a movie from the 70's, when things were different...It remainded me of Taxi Driver... I quite liked the movie, I'm reading the book to see the story... |

I watched this movie yesterday, and what I thought while watching this chase: "Wow, impossible that a huge car like a 300C can catch up with a fast 5.0L Ford Mustang!" I know a thing about cars, but not much about American cars (as I'm from Europe, and in the Netherlands where I live there are only small engine 300C's, and barely any Mustangs). Let's assume that the 300C is the high-end SRT8, with specs: Chrysler 300C HEMI 6.1 V8 SRT-8 Top speed 265 km/h (sorry, no miles where I live) Acceleration: 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds 425BHP, 570Nm torque Acceleration: 80-120km/h in 2.9 seconds And when I search for the specs of a 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L it shows: Top Speed: 245 km/h (151.9 mph) Acceleration: 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds 406BHP , 527Nm torque I can't find the 80-120km/h acceleration specs of the Mustang 5.0, but judging the 5.4 seconds (300C) and 4.6 seconds (Mustang) I have the feeling the Mustang should be somewhat faster... and the Driver in Drive should be more skilled than the average gangster, no? ![]() |

It's visibly dripping oil (or brake fluid?) in that scene. Clarkson was right again... |

The editing in the Mustang vs. 300C chase was absolutely embarrassing - right down to when the SILVER Ford Focus (on a 4-lane road) turns into a BLUE Toyota Corolla (on a 2-lane road). The rest of this pretentious flick was pretty pathetic too (not that it didn't have its occasional redeeming moments). -Kurt |

3 stars it was not used that much in the movie |

I enjoyed the chase, except for the constant continuity errors. Also, it does seem like precious little actual driving for a movie called "Drive". |
