enough to see, to spot it?![]() |

It's Maltese, which will make it hard to identify. Body is local, chassis could be almost anything. (Some of the filming was in Malta. |

Either an AEC or a Bedford I think, but very difficult. http://maltabuses.photos.gb.com/p28020042.html is a close fit, but I'm not convinced (it's got the strange wing structures at the front). http://maltabuses.photos.gb.com/p28038517.html is similar ( a Bedford with Leyland on the front), but I think the radiator is wrong on both. Have a look at http://maltabuses.photos.gb.com/ and pick a number - this is probably the definitive photo guide to Malta's buses. |

There are several more Maltese buses in the film, including one in the scene with the ice-cream van. |

I've not seen the movie, but I'm told a Saviem bus appears, possibly an SC-10, also a MAN; in Brooklyn a GM New Look. Also reported to me was a night scene including a Routemaster and a DMS-class Daimler Fleetline, but I also know the film company had a Routemaster RML (probably RML2476 (JJD476D)), a Daimler Fleetline (British but NOT a DMS) and an AEC Regent V (formerly East Kent East Kent MFN950F) available - don't know if any of these three made it into the finished film. |

Have a guess what I did before posting. ![]() There is a number of buses, especially AECs, with a front design which comes close to the one of this bus. But the bus on the picture I put in was the only one where the radiator and the "wing" structure really look similar to the one in the movie. |

how could someone get closer? a pitty, but there were no better images to get out of this bus. on the other hand: makes fun, to chase such *background-things*. how to decide? :-)) martin |

Do you realize how many buses with this front on how many different chassis exist on Malta? |

the Malta bus with the distinctive chrome "side brows" and the curved grille is Bedford based, not AEC..these were made from obsolete WW2 ex British Army Bedford QL 3ton GS trucks..some will have "Leyland" badges on purely to identify the replaced engine. |
