Hotchkiss M201, I suppose. |

The 'Caution: Left hand drive' message is law-required for Australian vehicles so it's probably an import and more likely a Willys. |

Whatever it is, it's probably a collector's vehicle that was previously painted to represent a US army Jeep from the Second World War. |

Or perhaps someone who restored this jeep gotten the cloth on their hand from Australia. ![]() However, I thought the cover cloth might be from England ![]() |

Sorry, I should have been clearer (again). During the Second World War, US army vehicles in the UK had left hand drive warnings on the back, so the owner would have added it to his Jeep to make it more authentic. |

When in doubt the site usually refers to the WWII jeep as a Willys MB. |

http://www.sacarr.co.uk/mymvs/jeep/m201mb/m201mb4.htm We have this light here, under the jerry can bracket. This machine is probably composite (see the hood with its wooden blocks) but the base seems to be Hotchkiss. |

DidierF. I do not see the number plate light. The left side is the same as the right side. Red reflector outboard with combined military taillight inboard. The taillight has red oval shaped upper lens and thin rectangular/horizontal blackout lens in the center. Originally the left (red upper) and right (b/o brake) side lights were different but most replacements use the left side (red taillight) for both due to safety reasons. This could be a Hotchkiss but nothing specific I see points that direction. Nice points on the screen rest and the raised support hold downs! |

4x4peru, on our main pic, I saw a 'something' little and roughly rectangular just above the 25 of "425" number, see? And going to "Number plate light" paragraph of the now famous comparative site, I deduced it was a number plate light, therefore the car was a M-201. But now, re-watching the site page, I notice that Hotchkiss little plate light is not in line between the tail lights, but is above the line joining the tail lights, which is not the case for the car on our main pic. So, I'm wrong—and thank you for reading and criticizing what I said. (Er… so, I'll turn the car back to MB, okay?) |

DidierF. No criticism. This site is for FUN. Some have fun looking for details, others have fun making sure all the nomenclature is "perfect" and others enjoy watching those people spin out of control when things are not done their way... entertainment. The plate light you were looking for in this pic was not there and I felt you would appreciate knowing it rather than continuing to think it was. Regards. |

(But I meant 'criticize' in the right/good sense of the term. I hope to be criticized, I'm longing for citricism! Except from this repulsive haggis-eater so-called "dsl", naturally.) |
