philr ◊ 2006-08-17 05:55	There were some dirfferences between both. Not like the Canadian Pontiacs that had different names, Chevy drivetrains, suspensions and firewalls with Pontiac sheetmetal and trim, but still enough to distinguish them. I have a 1965 Buick Wildcat built in Canada and it has more standard equipment than the US model had. The interior trim is also different from the US model. It uses a mix of parts that were found in the more expensive 1965 Buick Electra 225 and Electra 225 Custom and also some that were found in the 1964 Olds 98 LS. Many other parts were also made in Canada or supplied by different manufacturers. For example, I recently replaced the original wheel cylinders on mine and all of them were stamped "Delco Canada".

philr ◊ 2006-08-17 20:26	It's not made for Canada, it's made IN Canada! My other Buicks were made in the US with Canadian specific equipments but this one was made in Canada!

philr ◊ 2006-08-19 04:12	As I said, GM Canada gave different characteristics to some of the cars they built. The Wildcats that were built here had different interiors from the US models and they had more standard equipment. GM (the US headquarters) didn't even count the Canadian cars in their total production numbers as they counted only those built in their US factories. So now, all the reference books do not include the canadian cars in their production figures. GM provides 22,893 as the total number of Buick Wildcat Sport Coupes that were built in 1964 but this car isn't one of them... Before 1967, GM Canada referred to the LeSabre and Wildcat models as the domestic models while the Electra 225 and Riviera were imports:
