A pretty good 1970s car chase |
◊ 2007-10-08 02:49 |
Just watched it on YouTube. It was pretty wild stuff, although the direction was a bit sloppy and I didn't like the dubbed-over 4 cylinder engine sound effects. The YouTube version also had the cop interrogating the suspect after pulling him out of his crashed car...both were so perfectly calm after this high speed chase and crash that it was utterly hilarious. |

Geico is using clips from the chase scene in their latest commercial. It drove me CRAZY the first time I saw it; I knew I recognized the scenes! |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzFLWYF5hQU In the actual movie footage, I can spot a 1974-1976 Ford (Gran Torino) Elite, a 1966 Dodge Coronet, a 1973 Plymouth Fury, and a Datsun. In the close-ups of the "drivers" there are modern cars in the background. |

There are a lot more cars in this film than are noted here. I'll add a selection. |
◊ 2013-06-23 22:03 |
Completed. |
◊ 2013-06-24 02:54 |
tonyrome, could you please provide image replacements for the cars that were previously listed before you added more, because your images are better quality. |
◊ 2013-06-24 02:57 |
Also, when adding a movie in non-HD quality please resize the images to 720px or less. Here 640 would have been most appropriate. I resized them for you here. |
◊ 2013-06-24 15:59 |
Will do. OK, new images will be 640 pixels width for this film. |
◊ 2013-06-25 09:38 |
I'll have to go through the film again but will try to do that later today. Should I post new images, copying the vehicle detail from the existing images or do you want me to post the new images here, within the comments section? |
◊ 2013-06-25 21:12 |
Upload them as thumbnails on the existing pages. One of the mods will input them from there. |
◊ 2013-06-26 17:11 |
Work is now complete. I have uploaded new images for each of those already posted plus added more, which had been missed by the original poster. Here's another Remy Julienne sequence from the main chase. As mentioned by Skid, following a massive crash... ...the drivers seem to be in remarkably good shape -- Last edit: 2013-06-26 17:24:50 |

Helicopter used at the start and end of the film. |

@Classics fan - Are you planning on doing replacement pics? Your quality is much better than the current ones. |
◊ 2016-10-11 09:49 |
Ok, I can do that. I have to post the new pictures on the vehicle's page, right? -- Last edit: 2016-10-11 09:55:43 |

Yes, that's the right way. |
◊ 2016-10-11 20:19 |
Ok, thanks. |

Is this a Catalina or a Laurentian( the red behind the 2+2)? |
◊ 2016-10-13 08:55 |
It's too small to tell |
◊ 2016-10-14 20:58 |
This Mustang is too small, but it seems me very interesting with this decal on it. |

"Here's some more stuff that may or may not be listed:" 2. British? Japanese? 5. 1972-1973 Jeep Commando; very rare - added 6. 1966 Ford fullsize two-door sedan with a side marker light added later 8. 1969 Dodge Monaco (I like fuselage Dodges, maybe can be added...) 9. Travco motorhome (What is O'Keefe?) Locomotive: Canadian National 9567 is an EMD GP40-2LW built in 1975 (so it still looks new and shiny in 1976); still in operation as of January 2024. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=84936 -- Last edit: 2024-11-03 23:48:49 |

O'Keefe is a brand of beer , i think they're part of Molson ( another beer brand ) now our friend here was probably used as a promotional vehicle -- Last edit: 2024-11-03 23:52:22 |

Interesting. Google tells me Laurentide is a beer brand, too. |
◊ 2024-11-05 02:06 |
yep , there was also Labatt , which has been one of the Montréal Expos sponsor ( or at least associated with ) for a while Link to "www.etsy.com" and mostly known to me for their funny ads looks like O'Keefe were also involved in sport too -- Last edit: 2024-11-05 04:02:54 |
