130rapid ◊ 2010-03-27 18:07	BMW always made old & new models with some overlap. Few months at least, one year standard. Last E21 for US market was made in December 1982, last E21 at all in December 1983. First BMW E30 (323i) was assembled in December 1981, first E30 US-spec in January 1983. Few months between the starting production and premiere gone by, indeed.
an_unusual_eye ◊ 2010-03-27 18:30	seems that could certainly be true for production data... must have taken some time to get them here and prepped for sale, as the e30 cars sold here were sold as new for the 1984 model year.
