Do you think this one is badged Renault, and not a former version? |

Actually I just went by the Renault logo and Dodge inscription on the grille. So far I cannot tell if they were sold as 'Renault Dodge', 'Dodge Renault' or just 'Dodge'. |

From wikipedia's Dodge article: http://www.renaultoloog.nl/trucks-english.htm -> example of a 1983 model It is a Dodge/Renault 100 Series of first half of 80s, though I am not sure on how to write the make name... Maybe only Dodge or only Renault should be used. From the grille I would say that it is just "Dodge 100 Series". -- Last edit: 2006-08-01 10:56:16 |

From memory they were 'Dodge-Renault' or just 'Dodge' even with the Renault badge added and they were built in Dunstable in the UK right next to the GM plant that produced the Bedford trucks. 'Dodge-Renault' as confirmed by Fleetdata.co.uk site.... "The business was sold to Renault in 1981. The Dodge name was still used for a while and then the Renault diamond established itself and they were badged Dodge-Renault and eventually in 1987 just Renault." The truck shown is a 'Commando' which started in 1974 as a Commer model I believe. http://ccmv.fotopic.net/p25955276.html Dodge-Renault Commando ...... edit I'm happy to use 100 series since reading the earlier post ...as being the Renault model designation for Commando. -- Last edit: 2006-08-01 11:16:28 |

The CM archive clears-up the Dodge-Renault / Renault-Dodge problem. The trucks are 100% Renault and the Dodge badge was optional for customers (or dealers) that preferred the old Dodge branding so avoiding lost sales. |
